When did you first realise you were good enough to make it as a pro?

I only started playing when I was 13 and I was scratch at 16. That gave me confidence to believe in what I was doing.

What’s Bob Torrance really like?
He is hard working, very hard working, and he certainly knows how to get the best out of people, that’s for sure.

C..is for CLASSROOM

What were you like as a pupil: silent and studious or loud and rebellious?
I was not very attentive. My report card in school always said “could do better” and I was always easily distracted.

What’s been your biggest extravagance with your cash?
Well I just bought my new flat, which is at Glasgow Harbour (a new development near Glasgow’s West End). That’s the biggest, yeah!

What’s the worst injury you’ve ever sustained?
I was in Florida for the Faldo Series and, the first morning we were there, I hit a 6-iron and my shoulder snapped and I collapsed in agony.

F...is for FIRST CRUSH

Do you recall the first girl you ever fancied?
I do, aye! But I’m not telling you. I was in Primary 7 and, yes, I still remember her name. But I’m still not telling you.
