Westwood hopes to bounce back from health scare
World No.3 was rushed to hospital after suspected blood clot in his leg
Lee Westwood was rushed to hospital with a suspected blood clot shortly after arriving in France for the French Open.
The 37-year-old was suffering swelling in both his ankle and his calf following his arrival in France, but doctors are confident that he was simply suffering a reaction to the current heat wave in the country.
"Lee felt pain in his calf and it was swollen on Tuesday," explained his manager, Stuart Cage. "But when he woke this morning his ankle was swollen too so he decided to have it checked out in the physio's truck.
"The French doctor there thought it could be a blood clot and said Lee should go to hospital for tests."
The health scare was a huge worry for the world No.3, who is looking to secure his first major title in two weeks time at the 150th anniversary Open Championship at St Andrews.

No great surprise there. As poor a season as he has had by his own high standards, compared to the rest of the guys ...
