Despite his much-document problems off the golf course, Forbes magazine has named Tiger Woods as the top sports brand by athlete, with an estimated value of $82million.
According to the publication, which is famous for producing yearly 'rich lists', Wood's remaining sponsor deals with Nike, Gillette and gaming companies will see him remain as the highest paid athlete this year.
His total fortune is larger than that of the next five athletes combined, even though it is possible Woods' indefinite break from golf could prevent him from taking part in a professional tournament this year.
David Beckham ($20m) and tennis world No.1 Roger Federer ($16m) were placed No.2 and 3 with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhart and basketball's LeBron James and Kobe Bryant rounding off the top six.
Although he retains the top spot, Woods' finances were damaged significantly after allegations of extra-marital affairs emerged after his Nov 27 car crash.
While Nike and other have remained by his side, global management consultancy company Accenture and telecom leader AT&T cut all ties with the star.
