In 2010, Rory McIlroy designed and built his very own golf course and practice area modeled on courses from each of golf’s four major championships. Now, for the very first time, its facilities are open to the public.

The world class facilities, situated in the grounds of Robinhall House, Northern Ireland, are still used occasionally by the world No.1 when he returns home to fine tune his game.

Now golf enthusiasts can also have full use of this exclusive facility, with a percentage of proceeds going towards The Rory Foundation, set up by the 25-year-old to support children’s charities around the world.

The package

The deal on offer lasts for two-hours. In that time you can have a practice session on the very same putting green, and short game area, where Rory McIlroy mastered his skills.

Once you’ve had enough practice it’s time to hit the course. Its nine-hole long course is based on major championship courses, Augusta, St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Congressional – where McIlroy won his first major.

At the end of their visit, guests receive a personalised certificate to verify that they’ve played what was once Rory McIlroy’s own private golf course.

Away from golf, visitors can also explore other features of the Robinhall House estate. These include including its award-winning gardens, a freshwater lake, a floodlit tennis court, outdoor hot tub, sun terrace and separate BBQ area.

Price

The Rory McIlroy experience costs £95 per adult and £45 per child (under 14). Gift vouchers can also be bought for family and friends.

Rory McIlroy put his ‘heart and soul’ into Robinhall

Gary McCausland - Robinhall#2

Gary McCausland, who bought the facility from McIlroy last year, is confident guests visiting Robinhall House will enjoy the truly unique experience.

“Rory really put his heart and soul, as well as a huge financial investment, into building this facility to his own very particular specifications,” said McCausland.

“There’s nothing else like it in the world of golf.”

“You really feel his presence with every ball that you hit. By allowing people to come here and play, it will generate income that I can use to keep the course and practice areas to the world class standards that Rory originally created.

“There’s nothing else like it in the world of golf and it’s unique to Northern Ireland so we believe that it will be a huge attraction for golfing visitors to Northern Ireland as well as the huge golfing fraternity on these shores.”
