Big. Balls. That’s the name of a new project that vows to improve your putting.

The Kickstarter campaign, led by entrepreneur Myles Doak, is for 30% larger golf balls to come to market. He’s currently raised $3,000 towards his $20,000 target.

The idea is that after putting with Big. Balls. in practice, the hole when on the course will subconsciously appear larger and increase a golfer’s confidence in hitting any short putt.

Using Big. Balls. claims to take two to ten strokes off your round. Unconvinced? Watch this video:

DP World Tour Championship - Day ThreeYet *another* TaylorMade M2 triumph

Another week, another victory for a player using a TaylorMade M2 driver.

This time, it was Matt Fitzpatrick, who first put the driver in play just three weeks ago at the WGC-HSBC Champions.

In Dubai, Fitzpatrick ranked second in driving accuracy for the week (80.4%) and 16th in driving distance at 298.3 yards. His season average is 282.9 yards.

“I used a Callaway driver from the start of last year pretty much through to about three weeks ago and I had two wins with that driver and it was fantastic, very straight,” he explained.

“But I put in a TaylorMade in China for the last three rounds and then put it in the last three rounds at Nedbank and all four this week, and I’ve got to admit, it’s made a big difference, there’s no doubt about it.”

Spieth

Spieth switch up

Jordan Spieth picked up his first win in six months at the Australian Open – which he also won in 2014 – and did so with a significant bag switch.

The 23-year-old had been putting in some serious work on his swing during his five-week break since the Ryder Cup and put in Titleist’s newer 716 AP2s – released in October 2015 – which replaced his trusty 714s.

This isn’t the first time Spieth has switched to the newer model of irons, as he played the 2015 Barclays with the 716s. However, he missed the cut and switched back to the older model the next week.

New TaylorMade irons?

Ahead of the RSM Classic, four-time major winner Ernie Els was among a handful of players who had the chance to test a new set of TaylorMade prototype irons.

According to Golfweek’s David Dusek, TaylorMade representatives did not release details about the irons, but photos suggest they’re a forged, perimeter-weighted blade with extra mass low in the middle of the head.

THE PLAYERS Championship - Final RoundGet a putter like DJ & JDay

Jason Day and Dustin Johnson are the world’s top two – and both use the same TaylorMade Spider Tour putter.

And, from March 2017, you will be able to get an exact replica as, until now, the model at retail was slightly different.

It’s rumoured the exact replica, available in both red and black, will cost $299 (£240) and is expected to come in 34 and 35-inch models.
