The Mizuno JPX850 wood line has landed in Europe and is now available for shipping.

The next generation of Mizuno’s industry leading FAST TRACK sliding weight system has been making waves since a prototype was spotted in play at the 2014 Players Championship and the Shock Wave sole JPX850 fairway woods have been in LPGA star Stacy Lewis’ bag since July in a blacked out version.

The JPX850s are immediately available with Mizuno co-engineered Fujikura Orochi graphite shaft or the Motore Speeder 6.3 Tour Spec – with other shafts available through a custom programme.

Alex Thorne, European Tour operations manager who has been testing the 850 driver since July 2014, said: “The 850 is a great driver to work with because of the range of adjustability built into the head. Generally it’s a very low spin design – which is a great start on tour but there’s no one weight setting that seems to suit everyone.

“In the US, the JPX850 has been our fastest selling driver in well over a decade” – David Matthews, Mizuno‘s European marketing manager

Most of the guys have gone for one of the three ‘straight’ or four ‘fade’ settings – but they’re nearly all different.”

David Matthews, Mizuno’s European marketing manager, added: “With a moveable loft from 7.5 to 11.5, this driver quickly becomes a lot of fun for amateurs. Our fitters have unlocked a lot of distance for mid-handicap guys by adding loft and moving the weights to the forgiving, external settings.

“In the US, the JPX850 has been our fastest selling driver in well over a decade. By the end of January, Mizuno US were already out of stock until mid-April. The early signs are that the JPX850 will track a similar path in Europe.”

The JPX850 driver has an RRP of £349, the fairway woods from £219 and the hybrid from £179.

The JPX850 wood series will be available for testing at Mizuno’s Fitting Day programme and Performance Fitting Centre network from Feb 2. For more information about demo days, click here and you can also keep on track on Twitter by following @MizunoGolf_News.
