Exactly two weeks after it went on sale in the UK, Ping’s new Crossover enjoyed its first tour success as Louis Oosthuizen used it to great effect at the Perth International.
Described by Ping as ‘combining the forgiveness of a hybrid with the flight of an iron’, Oosthuizen had the G Crossover 3 (19˚) in his bag last week to help bridge the gap between his Ping G 5-wood and S55 4-iron.
The South African’s trusty S55 irons were working a treat, too, as he hit an incredible 67 out of 72 greens in regulation throughout the week. That’s amounts to a whopping 93% tally en route to victory.

Harrington sticks with the old school
They may no longer be available to buy brand new, but Ping’s Eye2 Gorge wedges from 2010 still have a big fan in Padraig Harrington.
The Irishman returned to defend his surprise 2015 win at the Honda Classic last week and he did so with his trusty 60-degree Ping Eye2 Gorge wedge.
It brings together the classic, funky appearance of Ping’s original Eye2 wedge from 1986 with grooves that conform to the current rules brought in at the start of 2010.

Garcia and Lawrie love the new M2
Sergio Garcia’s performance on Sunday may have been disappointing but his second place finish came on the same week he switched his driver.
Up until the start of the Honda Classic, Garcia had been using a 9.5˚ TaylorMade M1 with a Kuro Kage 80x tipped 1″ but has now moved in to the newly released TaylorMade M2 with the same loft and shaft.
Paul Lawrie has joined his former Ryder Cup teammate in putting the new M2 driver in the bag, with a Twitter post over the weekend telling us he’ll playing a 10.5˚ model.
The Scotsman’s new driver replaces the Callaway Great Big Bertha driver he had in his bag at the start of the year with the weight set in the full draw position.

Check out Bubba’s socks
As we learned at the Waste Management Phoenix Open a few weeks back, Bubba isn’t shy about helping out his sponsors. When you have socks as cool as these, though, it’s hard not to show them off.
