• Ping G Crossover name was inspired by cars
• It ‘offers distance, control and accuracy’

• For those who struggle with hybrids & long irons

Ping G | Crossover

Alongside its new G30 family, Ping has created a brand new category of club. It’s named the Crossover.

The Ping G Crossover combines the distance of a hybrid with the control and accuracy of an iron to create an easy to hit alternative. Golfers regularly have to choose between hybrids and long irons, but what if you can’t hit either well? That’s where Ping says the Crossover comes in.

Despite its appearance, Ping says people shouldn’t dismiss it as another driving iron because it has little relation to one. In fact, the G Crossover is 31% more forgiving than Ping’s most recent driving iron release, the Rapture.

The main thing the Crossover will offer is an alternative to those who struggle to get enough consistency with their hybrids, while also not being able to hit their long irons.

Ping has added some extra weight into the toe to give what it is calling hybrid-like forgiveness as well as distance and accuracy. An iron-style Carpenter 455 steel face has also been installed.

The type of material used has been machined extremely thin to allow it bend more at impact, while the flat face means it spins slightly hire than a comparable iron, but less than a hybrid.
