Ping has maintained one of its top brand ambassadors as American pro Billy Horschel signed a multi-year agreement to continue playing the brand’s golf equipment.

This has been a breakout year for Horschel as he earned his first PGA Tour win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans as well as several second and third place finishes among his eight top-10’s in 2013. Combine that with his tie for fourth place in the US Open and the fact he made 22 of 26 cuts this year, Horschel has had some year.

Ping chairman and CEO John A. Solheim was one of many that were impressed with the 26-year-old’s form.

He said: “Billy is an exciting young player who has a flair for the game and a likeable personaliity that has made him popular with fans and fellow tour pros. Consistency is one mark of true talent, and this year he was high up on leaderboards week in and week out, and he learned how to finish the job under pressure on Sunday afternoon.

“He has the shot-making skills and the confidence to go far in this game, and we look forward to watching him achieve his goals for years to come.”

As part of the agreement, Horschel will wear a Ping hat, carry a Ping staff bag and play Ping equipment.

“I have full confidence in the quality of equipment, and the company has put its belief in me and they support me 100% on tour”

Horschel gained a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Florida and he signed with the brand after graduating in 2009. The 26-year-old is pleased to have signed his latest deal. He said: “Continuing my association with Ping gives me peace of mind as we begin the new season.

“I have full confidence in the quality of equipment, and the company has put its belief in me and they support me 100% on tour. It’s a true partnership and they share in my success. I have a lot of goals for this season, so it’s great to have Ping in my corner.”
