Jason Day | TaylorMade

Jason Day captured the his fourth PGA Tour title at the weekend with a one-shot win in the RBC Canadian Open, and he did so with some incredible metalwood play.

Heading to the 71st hole with a one shot lead, many would play conservative and attempt to see out the win. High on confidence, Day thought otherwise, launching his 10.5º TaylorMade R15 460 driver 386 yards – I repeat, 386 yards – down the fairway.

Now, we’re not saying you’re going to get that kind of distance, but here are a few reasons why TaylorMade’s R15 driver can help your game.

• It is TaylorMade’s ‘most technologically advanced driver ever’. The No.1 driver on tour for the last 15 years, it’s the newest premium big stick from the brand and as you can see from Day’s stats, it can certainly fly.

• You can tailor it to your own settings. Adjustability has been big in metalwoods for the last few years and with the introduction of the new Front Track with two moveable weights, each weighing 12.5g, you can get any ball flight you desire. Loft sleeve technology offers four-degrees of loft adjustability, too.

•  It has a bigger head. Well, not really. It’s still maxed out at 460cc, but the profile has been shaped to make it appear larger at address, building up your confidence on the tee.

• You can choose your colour. TaylorMade found its white headed drivers to be massively popular, but it also understands not everybody is a fan, so what was the solution? Offer both a gloss black and a white satin finish on the crown, giving something for everyone.

Day’s impressive distances weren’t just restricted to his driver, either. His average drive with his AeroBurner TP 16.5º fairway wood was a mere 330.6 yards!

The R15 comes with an RRP of £369, while the AeroBurner fairway wood is priced at £199. For more information on both, visit taylormadegolf.co.uk
