1 Holy fairway-rockin’ wheels, Batman!

Inspired by the ‘Tumbler’ Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, this seriously smart buggy cost an estimated $30,000 to convert it from the E-Z-Go cart it started out as into the immense piece of kit you see below. Pow!

2 The ultimate driving machine

Made by Bentley – that’s right, Bentley – this outrageously smart buggy comes with alloy wheels, leather seats and has a top speed of 20mph. So, that’ll be the slow play issue solved, then…

3 Fair’s Ferr…

Costing the best part of £20k, the F5 golf buggy is inspired by the Enzo, one of the world’s most desirable supercars. One six-hour charge will do you for three rounds. Oh, and it’s a Ferrari.

4 Keep out of the Hazzards

As you can probably tell, this buggy takes its inspiration from the ‘General Lee’ Dodge Charger that was, unquestionably, the true star of The Dukes of Hazzard. Bubba Watson owns the real thing. Maybe he fancies the golf buggy, too.

5 Four in one…

Transport your entire fourball around the course in just one awesome buggy, with the brilliant Hummer golf cart. More than three metres long, it’s big – but brilliant.

6 A nice piece of K.I.T.T.

Before he became a reality TV sell-out, David Hasselhoff was the star of the brilliant ’80s classic Knight Rider. This buggy is inspired by his car in the show, K.I.T.T. No word on whether it talks or is as indestructible as the Hoff’s version but it’s doubtful…

7 Lightning strike

Kids will go crazy for this cart, which takes its lead from ‘Lightning McQueen’, the lead character in the Disney Pixar film Cars. McQueen, incidentally, was voiced by Hollywood star Owen Wilson, whose brother Luke has previously featured in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. So there.

8 Merc of a champion

Presented for the first time at the 2013 Open Championship, this concept buggy by Mercedes-Benz is bold, beautiful and brilliant. Solar-powered and operated by a joystick, it has a ‘heads-up’ display built into the windscreen, an iPad docking station, rain-sensitive windscreen wipers and lightweight removable doors.

9 You’re taking the Mickey…

Everyone’s favourite cartoon mouse (well, after Danger Mouse, obviously) has been given the buggy treatment here. Probably be quite handy for ‘Minnie’ golf… Hello? Anybody?!

10 Zoiks!

Remember Scooby Doo? The ghost-busting, crime-fighting dog that was scared of everything? This cart has been decked out to look like the ‘Mystery Machine’ that he and his gang of ‘pesky kids’  used to ride around in.

11 Porsche wheels

Reportedly made by Porsche, this buggy has everything you could want: alloy wheels, leather seats, a sporty look. And, unlike most other Porsches, you can actually fit two sets of clubs in the back of it. Score!

12 Hot stuff!

Designed in the style of a ‘Hot Rod’ California Roadster, this brilliant cart has a top speed of 25mph, chrome alloy wheels, chrome mirrors, and full multimedia susses that includes a DVD player and flip-down monitors. Oh, and it’s road legal, too!

We’ve already seen the Batmobuggy… now, check out the Spider-Cart. Do you know who’d love this? Webb Simpson. Get it? Webb? Oh, never mind!

So, this pretty much tells its own story, right?

15 Perfect delivery

UPS is a company that prides itself on always delivering. This buggy, designed in the style of one of the postal company’s distinctive brown vans, certainly does just that. Useful for players with a habit of air-mailing the green.

16. Do it Bubba-style…

The Masters champion’s approach to getting around the golf course is characteristically unorthodox. Who needs a buggy when you can have a… hovercraft?! Check out this vid…

WARNING: if you do get your own golf buggy, here are some ways NOT to use it…
