JORDAN SPIETH | RBC HERITAGE

Masters champion Jordan Spieth is straight back into the thick of the action this week after honouring his commitment to play in the RBC Heritage.

The 21-year-old is the first Masters winner to compete at the tournament in South Carolina since Zach Johnson in 2007 and said it was important to attend the event at Hilton Head because they had offered him a sponsor exemption in 2013 before he earned is tour card.

It’s been a hectic few days for Jordan Spieth, who has been on a whistle-stop tour of New York’s TV and radio stations following his Augusta success, with the Empire State Building lit up in green in honour of his triumph on Monday night.

With two wins and two runner-up finishes in his last four starts, world No.2 Spieth is undoubtedly the favourite for the event, which has attracted a strong line-up despite being a week after the first major of the year.

RBC Heritage - Final Round

Ian Poulter will be hoping to back up his excellent weekend showing at Augusta with a strong finish on the Harbour Town Golf Links. The Englishman shot a pair of 67s to finish T6, some nine shots behind Jordan Spieth.

Zach Johnson also performed strongly last week with a T9 finish on eight-under, while world No.10 and 2010 RBC Heritage champion Jim Furyk will be looking to bounce back after missing the cut at Augusta.

Last year’s champoion Matt Kuchar will also be looking for a response following a poor Masters showing, where he missed the cut after three successive top ten finishes.

World No.31 Graeme McDowell and No.38 Brandt Snedeker are other former winners of the tournament in the field, while Patrick Reed will be hoping to add to his win at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions back in January.

Selected groups (local times)

8.10am – Brandt Snedeker, Zach Johnson, Ian Poulter

12.40pm – Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Matt Kuchar

12.50pm – Webb Simpson, Graeme McDowell, Ernie Els
