Martin Kaymer’s odds to win the Open championship have been more than halved on the back of his wire-to-wire US Open win
Kaymer has been cut from 33/1 to 16/1 to win the Open championship and is now 9/1 to top the PGA Tour money list.
“Martin Kaymer was all but unbeatable and he will be a very welcome addition to the Ryder Cup team – which is looking very strong indeed,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
For all Kaymer’s good work he still isn’t among the three favourites for the Claret Jug. That honour goes to Tiger Woods at 6/1, Rory McIlroy at 10/1 and Adam Scott priced at 16/1.

Kaymer is even longer odds to win the PGA Tour money list with the German available at 9/1. Ahead of him is the favourite, Bubba Watson, priced at a short 4/1, with Dustin Johnson and Jimmy Walker available at 6/1, with Adam Scott standing alongside Martin Kaymer at 9/1.
Martin Kaymer Ryder Cup
After two big wins this year – the Players Championship and now the US Open – Kaymer looks more than likely to have secured a spot in the European Ryder Cup team. If you like to get your bets in early before prices change again, Europe are now the 10/11 favourites to win this year’s match at Gleneagles, with the USA close behind on 11/10. If you back the draw you will get odds of 10/1.
