• American to make her Scottish debut next week
• Has accepted invitation to play at Dundonald Links
• Tiger Woods’ niece also confirmed to return

PAIGE SPIRANAC |  LADIES’ SCOTTISH OPEN

Social media sensation Paige Spiranac is set to make her first visit to the home of golf when she takes part in next week’s Ladies’ Scottish Open at Dundonald Links.

The 23-year-old Instagram star made her Ladies European Tour debut at last year’s Dubai Ladies Masters and recently won her first professional title, firing a 68 en route to victory in a developmental tour event in the US.

Appropriately, Spiranac confirmed that she has accepted an invitation to play in Ayrshire next week via Twitter.

Paige Spiranac will be joined in the field by Cheyenne Woods, niece of former world No.1 and 14-time major winner Tiger Woods.

She made her Ladies’ Scottish Open debut at the same venue last year and the 25-year-old revealed she is excited to have the opportunity to play in Scotland again this year.

“I’m looking forward to a great week in the home of golf” – Cheyenne Woods

“I can’t wait to return to Dundonald Links and play in front of the Scottish fans,” said Woods. “It’s a tournament and a course I’m really fond of, and it will be a great opportunity for me to fine-tune my game ahead of the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Woburn.

“I got a really nice reception from the Scottish fans at Dundonald last year, and I feel like I have a special relationship with them. I even celebrated my birthday with them on the Saturday last year. They are very respectful and knowledgeable, so I’m looking forward to a great week in the home of golf.”

Another American, the current LET money leader Beth Allen, has also confirmed her participation, whilst the likes of Catriona Matthew, Laura Davies and former Solheim Cup captain Carin Koch will also be hoping to take the title, won last year by Australia’s Rebecca Artis.
