SOCIAL EYES

Welcome to this week’s Social Eyes! Who’d be the leader of one of golf’s biggest governing bodies, huh?

PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem is stepping down at the end of 2016 and, before his press conference at the Tour Championship, read out some mean tweets directed at him over the years.

Another week, another sighting of Anthony Kim. This time, the American was holding a golf club! Is a comeback on the horizon?

Or could he even be a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup? It seems as though some PGA Tour stars are rooting for that, including last year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational champ Matt Every.

That’s if he doesn’t win the Porsche European Open this week to get himself in, as he jokingly put on Instagram. Just take a look at that hashtag…

Remember Sang-Moon Bae? The South Korean in the middle of two years’ military service but, on holiday from army duty, managed to play a round alongside current PGA Tour star Danny Lee.

Here’s Bae in his army gear with a goodwill message from none other than Rickie Fowler in the comments.

Europe will be heading to the Ryder Cup with a LOAD of support. Niall Horan, former One Direction man, is looking to grow that even more.

The singer has 17.1m followers on Instagram – Rory McIlroy has 1.1m – and his picture of gear for Hazeltine racked up a whopping 609,000 likes!

Packed and ready for @therydercup . Really looking forward to it @rydercupteameurope

Hey, R&A. Don’t think driving distances are increasing? Take a look at this, courtesy of Greg Norman…

You don’t think technology hasn’t changed the game? Old school yardages.
