• Steven Bowditch records second win in just over a year
• “It’s a pretty surreal feeling,” said the 31-year-old Aussie
• Masters champion Jordan Spieth finishes T30

STEVEN BOWDITCH

Steven Bowditch recorded his second PGA Tour victory in just over a year with an impressive wire-to-wire showing at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

The 31-year-old finished four shots clear of Charley Hoffman, Jimmy Walker and Scott Pinckney in Texas, with Dustin Johnson falling away after a quadruple-bogey on the par-4 6th after being well-placed heading in the final day.

It was all to play for after the front nine but Bowditch pulled clear with four birdies on the back nine to set clinch his second PGA Tour win – after the Valero Texas Open in March last year – by four shots on 18-under par, setting a new tournament record score in the process.

“It’s a pretty surreal feeling” – Steven Bowditch

Bowditch, who was also married at the Four Seasons Resort and Club three-and-a-half-years ago, said: “It’s a pretty surreal feeling and one that I guess I thought about occasionally but didn’t quite think that would happen yet, especially come this quick.

“Taking photos on the green today was definitely the second best time I’ve had on that green.”

AT&T Byron Nelson - Final Round

Masters champion Jordan Spieth finished T30 and was never really in contention throughout, although it was his best placing at the tournament since 2011, where he competed as a 16-year-old.

“This is in my fifth start here, my second best finish. My best finish I was 16 so maybe I’ve stepped down from when I was 16 until now but pick it back up at some point.

“It was a good two weeks and a great Texas stretch this year. Didn’t get a win but so close a few times. This course didn’t play to me this week.

All in all, you know, really cool walking these fairways, walking up to the greens, seeing these huge galleries that were supporting. Good to see a lot familiar faces as well and that I don’t see anywhere else but here at the AT&T Byron Nelson.”
