• Tiger Woods has not been in action since August, 2015
• Agent says news is ‘step in right direction’
• Former No.1 attended Champions Dinner this week
It looks as though The Masters has come just a few weeks early for Tiger Woods, after Golf Digest‘s Tim Rosaforte revealed that the 14-time major winner has been hitting his driver “full speed”.
Woods hasn’t been seen on the PGA Tour since August last year and only announced his withdrawal from the Masters last week. He attended the Champions Dinner on Tuesday but, according to Nick Faldo, was not forthcoming on his golf game. “I’m playing soccer with my kids,” he told Faldo.

Tiger Woods making progress
Since Rosaforte’s initial tweet, Steinberg has confirmed that Woods is making progress and has, indeed, been hitting drivers. Steinberg described it as “another step in the right direction”. This would suggest a much quicker return for Woods than had been anticipated.
