Hurry – £20 ClubGolf membership offer only available until end of April

Children looking to take advantage of ClubGolf’s amazing £20 junior membership offer have three weeks remaining to make a saving, which could represent a third of their yearly green fees at their local golf club.

All young people who have been involved in ClubGolf coaching and are looking to become a golf club member for the first time in 2013 are being invited to take up the offer, which Scotland’s national junior golf programme hopes will promote junior membership to more golfers than ever before.

Made possible by funding from the Scottish Government, the offer is only available until April 30, 2013, by which time interested parents must have returned a completed application form to ClubGolf and redeemed their money-saving voucher, which will be made available at their child’s ClubGolf club.

Scottish Golf development manager Andy Salmon, who believes the offer could be crucial in helping clubs to boost future membership numbers, urged parents of all ClubGolfers to make the most of it before time runs out.

He said: “The £20 junior membership offer creates a fantastic opportunity for young golfers to join a club for the very first time and begin to realise all of the benefits that golf club membership brings.

“It’s also a terrific incentive for clubs to ensure that they invite as many children as they can to redeem the money-saving voucher to strengthen their respective junior sections.

“It is important that we view ClubGolfers as the golf club members of the future, which will help to maintain the strength of Scottish golf for the years to come, and I urge all ClubGolf delivery centres to fulfil their allocation before the April 30 deadline.”

Each ClubGolf club in Scotland, of which there are more than 300, has been set a maximum of 37 redemptions, meaning that more than 11,000 children could potentially benefit.

And, with the average cost of a junior golf club membership in Scotland coming in at £67, parents are being advised to move quickly in order to take advantage of this substantial saving on their child’s first-ever club membership fees.

Devoted ClubGolf supporter, First Minister Alex Salmond, who was in attendance when the £20 junior membership offer was first announced at the ‘ClubGolf @ the Castle’ event during the 2012 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, said: “Generating and then sustaining the interest of golf in Scotland is important for the future of this country and the health of Scottish clubs.

“So, I am delighted to support this superb offer for children involved in ClubGolf, giving them the chance to take up a discount on their first junior golf club membership.

“As the home of golf, we have a duty to offer access to this great game at club level to as many youngsters as we possibly can. Hopefully, with the help of the fantastic team at ClubGolf and offers such as these, more young people than ever before will decide to become club members for the first time in 2013.”

Parents can apply for a voucher for their child simply by downloading a form from the ClubGolf website www.clubgolfscotland.com/20offer which should then be completed and returned to ClubGolf.

The voucher will then be made available to redeem from their child’s ClubGolf club before April 30.
