TIGER WOODS | HERO WORLD CHALLENGE

Despite sitting second last after round one of the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods showed some fantastic glimpses of his old self in his first PGA Tour start for almost 16 months.

The 40-year-old raced to four-under-par through eight holes and was on course to post a sub par round until he was derailed by two double-bogeys in his final three holes.

However, there were plenty of positives for Woods to take heading into the remainder of the tournament, with these five shots showcasing Tiger at his best.

1. Hole No.3 – 3rd shot

Woods produced this deft chip from off the back of the green on the par-5 third hole to set-up an easy birdie chance, which he took, to get to one-under-par.

2. Hole No.6 – 3rd shot

Another par-5, another excellent third shot to set-up a straight-forward birdie chance, which he took.

3. Hole No.8 – Tee shot

After birdies at the sixth and seventh holes, Woods made it three-in-a-row to momentarily tie the lead on four-under-par at the par-3 eighth after this sensational tee shot.

4. Hole No.12 – Tee shot

Iron play was a particular strength of Woods during the round and he followed up his perfect tee shot on the eighth with an equally good strike on the 12th. Unfortunately though, he missed his birdie putt to get back to four-under-par.

5. Hole No.14 – Fourth shot

Big par save. After coming unstuck after such a fast start, Woods needed this to avoid a third bogey in six holes. He did so in style, and even gave a little fist pump. He followed that up with a birdie at the 15th, only to double-bogey two of the last three holes.
