There’s only one thing you think of when it comes to Brooks Koepka – major championships – so who is his caddie?

One of the most prolific performers in golf’s big four in recent years, the American has won multiple U.S. Open and PGA Championship titles.

That’s without counting the numerous PGA Tour and LIV Golf wins that Koepka has recorded, and by his side throughout has been the Floridian’s loyal caddie.

On the bag for over a decade has been a bagsman called Rickie Elliott and it’s fair to say the pair have formed a strong bond.

• Who is the caddie for Jon Rahm?

• Who is Rory McIlroy’s caddie?

Brooks Koepka’s caddie

Born in 1990, multiple Ryder Cup winner Koepka has established himself as one of the most feared players on the golf course.

Although he is the man hitting the shots, the vital information he needs comes from Elliott, who is originally from Portrush, in Northern Ireland.

He looked destined to have a successful career as a player when he turned professional after a successful amateur career, during which time he won the Ulster Boys’ and Ulster Youths Championships.

A former teammate of five-time European Tour winner Michael Hoey, Koepka’s caddie played college golf at the University of Toledo before turning professional but struggled in the paid game and ultimately turned his attentions to caddying.

• Who is the caddie for Brian Harman?

• Who is Wyndham Clark’s caddie?

He worked with Maarten Lafeber for a spell before teaming up with Ben Curtis, and he was on the former Open champion’s bag when he won the 2012 Valero Texas Open.

Elliott also caddied for Matt Fitzpatrick during the 2014 Masters when the Englishman was an amateur and played at Augusta National as the reigning US Amateur champion.

However, it was on the recommendation of Koepka’s coach, Claude Harmon, that he joined forces with Elliott ahead of the 2013 US PGA Championship.

Since then, they have struck up a formidable relationship, with Elliott on the bag for all of Koepka’s major victories as well as his win in the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open and 2018 CJ Cup.

He also caddied for Koepka in the 2016, 2018 and 2021 Ryder Cups and has continued to stand by his man following his move to the controversial, Saudi-funded LIV Golf League in the summer of 2022.

How strong is their relationship? Just ask Brooks. After winning the U.S. Open for the second time in June 2018, he described Elliott as “honestly one of my best friends.”

“I love the guy to death,” he added. “He’s an absolutely incredible caddie.”

Meanwhile, the pair had to be cleared of wrongdoing at the Masters in 2023. Koepka and his caddie were spotted signalling ‘five’ to Gary Woodland, implying the club to hit.

The Masters deemed no foul play took place.
