11. A keen pilot

One of Palmer’s greatest pastimes over the years has been flying. An avid pilot for over 50 years, Palmer flew a plane for the last time in 2011. Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, is named after him and there’s a statue of Palmer holding a golf club in front of the airport’s entrance, which was unveiled in 2007.
