This summer, the coastal Argentario Resort Golf & Spa has a number of golf competitions attracting golfers and sponsors from all over the world.

The course

Argentario’s course is located in a protected natural area, only five minutes from the Duna Feniglia Nature Reserve and as a result it’s blessed with natural beauty.

The course was designed by architect David Mezzacane and professional golfer Baldovino Dassù. The holes were subsequently shaped by Brian Jorgensen, making for a course tough course, rich in variety.

The Tuscan course is 6, 218 in length and has a par of 71. It has mostly small greens, which on occasion are dominated by the sea and the lagoon, or immersed in Mediterranean vegetation.

As well as being a great test of golf, the course has been awarded the ‘Agri Cert’ certification for its bio eco-compatibility, as all products used for its maintenance are completely natural.

Argentario competitions

June sees competitions such as the Mercedes Golf Trophy Tappa on June 21 and the Mercedes Golf Trophy Finale Nazionale a day later on June 22 easing to Argentario.

July 19 plays host to the Jaguar Golf Trophy, and the 26th sees the hosting of the BMW Italia – BMW Golf Cup International.

In August Argentario stages the Terenzi Wine Cup on the first of the month, and the Il Cicalino Golf Trophy on the 31st.

Some of the sponsors for the competitions taking place between June and August include luxury car brands Range Rover, Mercedes, Jaguar, Volvo, Toyota and BMW.

Golfers can also enjoy quality wines, exclusive champagnes and outstanding Tuscan home-brewed beers thanks to sponsors such as the Marchesi Antinori from Florence (the oldest wine family business in the world), Vranken Pommery from France and San Quirico Brewery from Siena.
