Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is celebrating after being named Spain’s Leading Villa Resort at the World Travel Awards.

Voted for by the public and announced at a glittering ceremony in Sardinia over the weekend, the awards support, promote and develop the global travel and tourism industry by identifying and rewarding excellence.

The ‘Leading Villa Resort’ category rewards resorts that not only offer world-class facilities but that also provide additional attractions and services, all seamlessly integrated with cutting edge designed property.
"We are so happy to have won such a prestigious award" - Silvia Llanes

Silvia Llanes, residential and quality director at Gmp, the Spanish real estate group that own Las Colinas, said: “We are so happy to have won such a prestigious award. We have long been admirers of the World Travel Awards and to win in such a tough category is very pleasing indeed.

“To say Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is Spain’s No.1 Villa Resort is something we are very proud of. I must thank our owners and all of the Las Colinas staff who work tirelessly to ensure a world apart experience for our guests.”

The Spanish resort, located south of Alicante in 330 hectares of Mediterranean woodland, has become a leader in attracting international leisure visitors and second-home owners to the region since its opening in 2010.
"We thank all those who voted for us" - Cristobal Guerrero

“I believe it is a mixture of our stunning accommodation, array of world class facilities and unique experiences that has made us stand out from our competitors and we thank all those who voted for us,” said Las Colinas' managing director Cristobal Guerrero.

“Our luxury villas are designed by one of the most prestigious studios in Europe, Woods Bagot, ensuring they are the best of quality. Our golf course is managed by Troon Golf and is one of continental Europe’s top 100 courses and we offer activities for all of the family from tennis and nature trails through 200,000 square metres of natural space to our on-site International School of Falconry.”

The title of Spain’s Leading Villa Resort further establishes Las Colinas Golf & Country Club as one of Europe’s most premium of destinations, following their success in last year’s International Hotel & Property Awards, where they received the No.1 Golf Resort accolade.

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club will be hoping for even more glory at the World Golf Awards in November, where they are up for Spain’s Best Golf Course.
