Aaron Rai is now the member of an impressive club. The Englishman is a PGA Tour winner, after picking up his first victory on the circuit at the Wyndham Championship. But, what clubs does Aaron Rai use?

The 29-year-old is a free agent for most of his equipment, only being contracted for his Titleist Pro V1 golf ball.

He says that this helps him to pick the right gear for him, and to have free choice in what he uses on the PGA Tour. That certainly makes his bag interesting, as he has various brands in the bag, with some brand new equipment and some from slightly older generations.

In particular, his driver, a TaylorMade M6, is several generations old, but that hasn’t stopped him from performing well with it.

Of course, one of the key parts of Rai’s set-up comes in the form of his gloves. The Englishman famously wears two gloves on the golf course. This, he says, helps him with comfort and grip when hitting shots. He tells a story of how when he was younger, a day on the course where he forgot one of his gloves was “terrible” as he couldn’t feel the grip of the club.

Those gloves come from the MacWet range from Glenmuir. Rai actually switches up his gloves depending on the conditions. If it’s warm and dry, he’ll wear the Micromesh gloves. But, if conditions are particularly cold and wet, he’ll go for the Climatec winter gloves.

Rai also uses head covers on his irons. Again, this is something Rai has done since he was a junior. When he was younger, his father bought his equipment for him and the young Rai could appreciate that golf gear wasn’t cheap. For that reason, he would use iron covers to keep his gear in pristine condition. While he now gets his gear for free, he says the covers aren’t going to be leaving anytime soon.
