Abacus Sportswear, the official supplier to The European Tour, has launched its Autumn 2014 collection. The range focuses on a ‘back to basics’ concept, combining classic styles with traditional autumnal colours.

The brand says it aims to create a ‘casual chic’ look which was popular in the 1990’s by drawing on Abacuss’ original collections from when the company was set up in 1991.

Colourways

Warm reds and cobolt blues feature strongly in the collection, which are often set against a monochrome black-and-white backdrop.

Colour blocking and two-tone looks are present throughout, echoing the activewear and athletic trends popular in fashion throughout autumn.

In addition to this, floral prints have been used to capture the essences of the mid-90’s bohemian chic style.

Abacus Technology

Technical fabrics shape the collection with Stretchlite, StretchDry, Windvent and DryCool materials featuring throughout.

Chris Mattsson, Designer at Abacus Sportswear, is excited the brand is returning to its roots: “In the new collection, we have revamped staple golf pieces and updated signature garments to appeal to the modern day, active golfer,” she said.

“All the pieces in our Autumn 2014 collection incorporate our Swedish roots.”

“We spent time exploring our customers’ needs to rediscover the style DNA that makes us a leading golf brand centres on a ‘Back to Basics’ theme.

“All the pieces in our Autumn 2014 collection incorporate our Swedish roots, combining style, design and functionality, and encapsulate the ‘Freedom of Golf’ brand ethos of Abacus.”

Abacus :: the Resort collection

Abacus Sportswear’s Autumn 2014 designs also includes the Resort Collection aimed at golfers who enjoy balmy winter temperatures and warmer year-round climates. Made up of capris, shorts, skirts and UV protection polos, it has been designed to address the increasing demand of Abacus products in regions such as the Far-East, Australasia and America’s warm coastal states.
