Golf balls can be expensive, especially if you’re opting for premium models. But, if price is your key consideration when picking up golf balls, then you can still pick up some great budget models.  The likes of Titleist, Callaway and TaylorMade all cater to the premium golf ball market, but they also offer balls that are more suitable for those of us who are trying to make savings on the course.   Of course, if you’re a golfer who loses a lot of balls, you might not want to spend too much on a ball that might not last more than one hole.   For others, winter can be a time to invest in some cheap golf balls. If you’re not playing competitive golf, you might want something more price conscious that you can use through the cold months.   The good news is, cheap budget golf balls are now readily available, and they are great quality.   Here’s some of the best budget golf balls you can buy.

They make Tiger’s ball, but if you want one that is more budget-friendly, this is for you

PROS

  • Focus on distance off the tee
  • Sleek alignment aid design with e6 branding
  • Nice and soft feel

CONS

  • There is softer balls available
Available for £22.99 from Bridgestone
First up in our alphabetical list of the best budget golf balls is a fantastic offering from Bridgestone. This is the brand that Tiger Woods plays and although the 15-time major champion doesn’t use these exact balls, they can certainly do a job for you, without breaking the bank.
These balls feature a larger and softer core, which is going to promote faster compression of the ball. Faster compression means more speed at impact, and that’s going to result in longer drives off the tee. However, Bridgestone’s seamless cover technology aims to improve spin and control on those delicate shots.
Certainly a great option for someone looking for a cheap, but solid performer.

The clue is in the name here! Callaway make some brilliant budget golf balls

PROS

  • Really soft feel
  • Very durable cover
  • Hybrid cover is a clever design

CONS

  • A touch pricey compared to others on the list, but still great value
Available for £29.99 from Callaway
Next up, is one of Callaway’s top performing balls. The Supersoft does exactly what you would expect it to do. Calaway don’t make any balls that are softer, so if that’s what you value, then you’re in luck. Best of all, it won’t break the bank.
In this ball you’ll find the HyperElastic SoftFast core, which delivers super fast ball speed with, you guessed it, soft feel. Also on this ball is Callaway’s hybrid cover, which not only gives durability, but also allows for more wedge control.
The Supersoft does exactly what you would expect it to do, and all for a great price. A fantastic option for those who like a responsive feel from their golf ball.

Think of affordable all-round golf balls and you probably think of these

PROS

  • No real weaknesses in performance
  • Can pick up a dozen for under £20
  • Alignment line is great

CONS

  • Hard to fault at this price point
Available for £19.99 from Srixon
A classic of the genre when it comes to budget balls is the Srixon AD333. With its iconic blue and white box, this ball is a bit of an all-rounder, but it does it all that on a budget.
The Srixon AD333 comes with a FastLayer Core, which delivers exceptional feel and ball speed. Srixon say that for their 10th edition, which was released in 2024, they’ve lowered the compression in this ball, to improve ball flight on lower lofted clubs. There is also the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern, which provides less drag and more lift, to produce stronger ball flights.
This is an excellent two piece ball that you know you can rely on from Srixon. An iconic all-rounder that you can pick up for a fraction of the price you might expect.

Look at those colours! A bright entry from golf ball giants TaylorMade

PROS

  • Who doesn’t love a splash of colour on their golf balls?
  • TaylorMade’s softest golf ball
  • Dimples designed for longer tee shots

CONS

  • A little extra cost to have the colourful version
Available for £26.99 from TaylorMade
We’ve got a colourful entry from TaylorMade. If you’re turned off by the colours, don’t worry, there is a less extravagant version available. Regardless of colour design, this ball is great value and a strong performer.
While the colour scheme on this might just look like a fancy design, there is good reason behind it. The paint splatter visual technology comes with high visibility in mind, which brings a different look to your golf ball. If you’ve ever picked up a two shot penalty for playing the wrong ball, this might be for you. Besides that, this is TaylorMade’s softest ball, but it still produces explosive speeds off the clubface.
A fast launching, soft feel ball from TaylorMade that will catch your eye, without depleting your bank balance too much.

Of course there’s going to be an entry from Titleist and it’s well earned

PROS

  • You know you’re getting quality from Titleist
  • A very soft feel
  • New cover provides good greenside control

CONS

  • We think there are better alignment aids in this list
Available for £26 from Titleist
It wouldn’t be a list of golf balls without an inclusion from Titleist. They might make the Pro V1, which is excellent, but not everyone wants to fork out that sort of money on golf balls. If that’s you, then the TruFeel might be more suitable.
This ball is made to deliver soft feel, and is actually the softest one that Titleist produce. The TruFeel features the Titleist TruTouch core, which aims to give you extra yards off the tee, without sacrificing any of the responsive feel of this ball. There’s also an element of control from this ball, thanks to the TruFlex cover, which gives more greenside spin and control.
You know that with the Titleist brand you’re going to get quality from your golf ball, and the TruFeel delivers this without breaking the bank. An excellent addition to your bag.

Wilson Staff Duo Soft
Wilson Staff Duo Soft
A hyper soft two-piece ball that is very easy on the bank balance

PROS

  • Sensationally soft feel
  • Low spin with the driver means longer distances off the tee
  • Decent durability considering how soft they are

CONS

  • Not quite as premium in looks as other Wilson balls
Available for £25 from Wilson
A very budget friendly option comes from Wilson Staff, who are making a resurgence in everything in the golf market at the moment. One area where they are making some impressive products is the golf ball, and the Duo Soft is no different.
The Duo Soft is, unsurprisingly, a two-piece ball that promises soft feel. In fact, Wilson say that this is the softest golf ball on the market. The latest iteration of this ball features a new core, which gives faster ball speeds with the driver. Crucially, Wilson has made this ball with improved aerodynamics, to give reduced spin with the driver, to get you further down the fairway.
As affordability goes, it’s hard to beat this ball. Very soft, with a high launch, it’s going to have a wide appeal.
