Bryson DeChambeau could be making a shock equipment change after shooting an opening three-under-par 69 at the Masters.
DeChambeau, as we know, never disappoints or fails to surprise us when it comes to his equipment.
He has been seen over the last year testing multiple brands and clubs, and has even had a huge involvement with the design of the new LA Golf driver, whilst testing a new LA Proto iron.
However, you’d assume he’d be over the moon with an opening round of 69 at the Masters. Wrong. It seems there may be a seed of doubt in his mind.

The US Open champ has been using the Krank Fire driver, which has brought him great success on LIV and in claiming his second US Open title in 2024, but he was seen tinkering with a few clubs on the range.
When asked about how he was feeling after being seen hitting multiple clubs he responded, “ Up and down. A little up and down. It’s just not dialled in like I want it to be.”

On day one, he hit 11/14 fairways, averaged 340 yards off the tee with his longest drive of 350 yards, so it surely can’t be that bad?
Well, when asked if he was thinking about swapping his driver head afterwards, he said: “Oh, I don’t know. Who knows?”

Bryson has always travelled with multiple driver heads because, of course, at his speed he can flatten the face, and performance can deteriorate over time. But it’s also because they’re not all the same, differing from head to head.
“It’s funny, the manufacturing process,” he added. “It’s unique. They don’t all come out the same. So I’m working to resolve that here shortly.”
A driver head swap would be no surprise on Friday, and we’ll no doubt see him on the range testing which one gives him the numbers he’s looking for to make a surge up the leaderboard.
