Bryson DeChambeau is no stranger to interesting golf technology. Now, the US Open champion appears to be testing a driver from LA Golf.

The American is set to star in the Showdown, teaming up with fellow LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka, where they’re taking on Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

And something in Bryson’s bag certainly caught the eye of his teammate for this week, as Koepka was pictured holding up a driver with LA Golf branding on the range in Las Vegas.

A closer look shows that this driver features LA Golf branding, as well as DeChambeau’s logo on the sole. There’s also a healthy dose of lead tape on the heel, so clearly DeChambeau has been experimenting with it.

What is Bryson DeChambeau’s new driver?

While we don’t have any official details on it, we’re confident this is something that was teased back at the Open Championship, when DeChambeau mentioned in his press conference that he was collaborating with LA Golf on something coming to market in 2025.

“Building a piece of equipment that works for that individual is incredibly important, and that’s what I’ve personally realised, and I hope to transition over to the public golfer,” DeChambeau said back in July.

“We’re working on that. It should be soon, should be sometime soon.”

Shortly after that press conference, LA Golf’s Twitter account posted a message, saying this:

“For decades, big golf brands have built a one-size-fits-all driver. Those days are over.

“LA GOLF alongside Bryson DeChambeau have designed the first driver ever where the face and shaft fit your swing.

“It’s time to make your mishits go straight.”

That’s certainly an appealing prospect. That same message is on LA Golf’s website, but there’s nothing else that gives us any further insight on the club. If it does indeed make every golfer’s mishit go straight, then LA Golf could be onto a winner.

LA Golf: Who are they?

If you’re a DeChambeau fan, you’ll already be familiar with LA Golf. The brand already appears throughout his bag, as they make all of his shafts. The super premium shafts are designed to give maximum stability, something which is certainly going to be beneficial for DeChambeau and his incredibly fast swing speed.

You might not know that LA Golf also make golf balls, but they do. These are four-piece balls that, LA Golf say at least, are longer than Titleist’s premium offerings.

LA Golf isn’t the only brand that DeChambeau is getting involved with, either. As you’ll have seen, the LIV Golf star signed up with Reebok Golf last week, and there was a clue to this driver in that shoot.

We can see the LA Golf logo across the sole of this club, as well as what looks like a fixed weight at the back of it. However, there’s no lead tape here, which was in place on the driver in DeChambeau’s bag in Las Vegas.

Will Bryson DeChambeau play the LA Golf driver?

Whether it will be in play in the LIV Golf v PGA Tour match is yet to be seen, however DeChambeau was also using his Krank driver on the range, so we’re expecting that to still be in the bag.

Sure enough, the Krank driver was still in play when DeChambeau played in the Showdown. Whether that will remain throughout 2025 is yet to be seen, but it’s there for now.

That’s the club that was instrumental in his success at the US Open this year, so it would be something of a surprise if it was to make way for something new in 2025.

But, with DeChambeau, a man who uses one length bulge faced irons and tests his golf balls in salt before putting them in play, perhaps nothing should be a shock.
