Callaway has announced a first-of-its-kind equipment partnership with Legion XIII, Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team.
The move, which won’t come as a huge shock, since Rahm has continued to play the brand’s equipment throughout his time at LIV, will see the relationship between the manufacturer and the team cemented.
Rahm was spotted with the Callaway logo on the front of his cap for the first two events of the LIV Golf season and is now using the brand’s new Elyte Triple Diamond driver, as well as the Apex TCB irons, Chrome Tour X ball and an Odyssey Ai-One putter.
“We are happy to partner with a world-class athlete in Jon Rahm, and his Legion XIII team,” said Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Topgolf Callaway Golf Brands.
“We’re committed to being an equipment leader wherever top players are competing. Now the time is right to cement our relationship with Jon and his team – utilising his exceptional talent and stature within the game to help engage and excite fans around the globe.”

Meanwhile, Rahm, who will soon be looking to win his second Masters title, had this to say.
“I’m so happy to enhance this incredible relationship with Callaway and also extend it with Legion XIII.
“I’ve played the best golf of my career with their equipment over the past four years, and they continue to set the bar higher with every new product line. I know this partnership will have a tremendously positive impact for me and my teammates.”
The move does raise questions around one member of Legion XIII, Rahm’s teammate, Tyrrell Hatton.

While Tom Mckibbin and Caleb Surrat both play Callaway equipment, Hatton has a bag full of mostly Ping gear. For the last decade, Hatton has used almost exclusively Ping clubs.
There’s no suggestion that Hatton will be swapping that all out, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
