Say hello to the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver. The latest addition to the Callaway line-up brings a new dimension to the range, let’s take a closer look.

The new Elyte Mini Driver sits between the fairway wood and the driver. This will be a more forgiving and easier to launch option in comparison to a fairway wood. Not only that, this will be to many golfers an excellent alternative from  the tee when accuracy is needed.

The First Look

No big surprises here, as the Elyte Mini Driver carries many similarities to the rest of the Elyte range.

There is the same adjustability on the sole as the Elyte driver. There’s similar features which combine with the same tech, which we’ll get onto in a minute.

In terms of size, this is a lot smaller than a 460cc driver head, at 340cc. For a mini driver, that is on the larger side.

The Tech

Here’s the tech you can expect to find in the Elyte Mini Driver.

The Elyte mini driver features adjustable sole and rear weighting which can be set in a neutral, fade, and draw setting to dial in your preferred ball flight control. The all-new Elyte shape provides enhanced aerodynamics for more speed throughout the entire golf swing which will add to your overall club speed which will contribute to faster ball speeds.

This new shape is also designed not only to maximise swing speed but help and contribute to improve forgiveness and launch conditions. Just like the Elyte driver range it features an all-new Thermoforged Carbon Crown. This aerospace grade carbon fibre enables fast head speeds while optimising the launch and spin.

With Callaway’s most advanced Ai face to date, the new Ai10x Face delivers ten times more control points than the Ai Smart Face. Designed to produce exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimised launch across the face for longer and straighter shot off the fairway and off the tee.

The bunkered Verdict

Mini drivers aren’t going to be for everyone but the versatility that they offer allows them to fit a lot of golfers. The new Elyte Mini Driver ticks the boxes when it come to adjustability, forgiveness and speed.

If you’re looking for an off the tee alternative, a slightly smaller headed driver, or a fairway wood with more forgiveness that can be used off the tee as dual threat, this will do it all. Having hit the the driver the Ai10x face is extremely impressive and with this in a mini driver could be a great addition to the top of your bag.
