Cobra King Oversized irons

First released back in 1994, the new Cobra King Oversized irons have been given a complete makeover as they get set to make their return in 2017.

Described as ‘true game-changers’, the Cobra King Oversized irons proved extremely popular following their initial launch. Now, they’re returning with the bigger and better than ever with the largest iron head and sweetspot Cobra has ever produced.

The 2017 design features a new PWRshell face technology, which helps to move more weight lower and more central in the head. As a result, the Cobra King Oversized irons make it easier to get the ball in the air with a head that is extremely forgiving across the full face.

Every iron in the Cobra King Oversized iron line has a full-hollow body construction, which Cobra says ‘delivers a soft, yet solid sound for higher launch and improved consistency’.

The 100% milled face gives more spin and control, while different grooves are used throughout the set to give ‘optimum spin performance’.

V-grooves have been installed in the 4-iron to 6-iron to reduce spin for more distance. The 7-iron to PW have U-grooves to increase spin for controlled shots into the greens and wedge specific grooves give even more spin in the GW and SW.

“The oversized head will provide golfers with even more speed from centre and off-centre,” said Jose Miraflor, Cobra’s senior director of product marketing.

“Really the key to distance is lower CG, which is a big challenge when you create a larger iron. Our multi-material cavity construction and strategically placed tungsten weighting allows us to place the centre of gravity lower, which ultimately delivers more speed and higher launch.
