FootJoy has given the already popular HyperFlex golf shoes a fresh look, with upgrades aimed at giving you better comfort, traction and performance.

The shoes, which come from the brand that has had the No.1 shoe on the PGA Tour for 80 consecutive years, aim to empower the athletic golfer looking for the best possible performance on the course.

One of those golfers is Justin Thomas. The two-time major champion has had the new HyperFlex shoes in play since the start of 2025.

“I’ve worn a classic shoe for pretty much my entire career – Classics, Icon, Premiere, etc. – but I had to make a switch when I tried this HyperFlex,” said Thomas.

“This shoe is perfect – super comfortable and flexible in the right areas, but also gives me all the support I need to make a strong, confident move on the ball.”

The shoes aim to give increased comfort on the course and this comes from FJ’s StratoFOAM cushioning. This delivers comfort and support specifically tuned for golf. The midsole design provides the perfect blend of cushioning which helps absorb shock while maximising energy return to reduce foot fatigue.

The new HyperFlex is powered by FJ’s proprietary TruFIT System, providing easy-on flexibility and wraparound heel support for a locked-in, secure fit.

As well as increased comfort, there’s new levels of traction for every condition. FootJoy’s OptiFlex outsole design promotes stability where you need it, with strategically placed angles of traction devised with the golfer in mind.

LP Pulsar cleats and additional traction elements are used to target omni-directional swing forces throughout the golf swing.

Crucially, the new HyperFlex shoes focus on transferring energy from the ground and through the swing to produce as much speed as possible. They feature a new outsole PowerPlate that helps to resist any twisting through the swing. As well as that, a TPU Saddle harnesses any top of foot movement and transfers it back into the ground.

Similarly to previous models from FootJoy, there’s also the HyperFlex Carbon shoe, which features a moulded carbon fibre power plate which further resists twisting.

Richard Spink, footwear product manager for FootJoy, said:

“The all-new HyperFlex shoe has been purposely designed to enhance not only what FootJoy has been able to develop in the athletic shoe sphere but use market leading technology and premium materials, to expand the influence of what a performance athletic shoe can achieve.

“Seeing so many of the world’s best players join the HyperFlex franchise in 2025 really gives the new shoe the ultimate validation. With the golfing season fast approaching, we now look forward to hearing the feedback from golfers across the U.K and Ireland as they look to add more power to their game.”

The HyperFlex range will be available in four colourways. White/Black/Red, Black/White/Red, Grey/White/Charcoal and White/Slate/Blue. The range will be available from March 1, with Carbon options coming later in 2025.
