FootJoy has launched a new microsite dedicated to teaching golfers about the importance of finding a properly fitting golf glove and how this can enhance performance.

Named Golfgloveguide.com, the site incorporates instructional and experiential content, outlining the five most important aspects pertaining to a glove’s performance: equipment, grip, fit, durability and care.

One man who knows the importance of finding the right glove is world No.2 Adam Scott. “Finding the best golf glove for you is crucial,” said the 2013 Masters champion.

“All of the feel in your golf game comes through your hands. It is so important that I have good feel through my glove, as my hands are connected to the club, which is doing all of the work.”

“I need a combination of protection and feel in my glove and I trust FootJoy gloves to provide both.” – Hunter Mahan

Hunter Mahan, heading to Gleneagles as part of the US Ryder Cup Team this month, has echoed Scott’s views.

“We need our hands so much in this game and we need to take care of them,” said this year’s Barclays champ. “I need a combination of protection and feel in my glove and I trust FootJoy gloves to provide both of these qualities.”

FootJoy estimates that more than 50 per cent of players are wearing the wrong size of glove, often dismissing the glove’s importance and the associated benefits wearing the perfect glove can bring.

The brand claims a well fitting glove can improve a player’s performance and provide valuable insight into the adjustments required in their grip and hand positioning.

As a result, information is readily available for consumers on golfgloveguide.com to find the one that’s right for them.

There is also guidance on what your glove says about your swing, worked out by studying the areas of wear on your glove.

In addition, information on the right time to change your glove is also available on the site.

Maria Bonzagni, senior director of marketing, FootJoy gloves and accessories hopes the microsite will help players understand the impact swinging with the right glove has on their game.

“The glove is not just an accessory but an essential part of every player’s game.” – Maria Bonzagni

“The make and fit of a golf glove can affect a player’s swing more than most realise,” said Bonzagni.

“At FootJoy we’re dedicated to making the best golf gloves in the world. The care we take in their creation reflects a long held philosophy that the right glove can mean as much to your game as the right ball or right club.

“The glove is not just an accessory but an essential part of every player’s game.”
