It’s a question that gets asked a lot if you’re a high handicapper. Should you get fitted for golf clubs?
Being fitted for golf clubs is one of my favourite experiences. From start to finish, I just love the process and seeing everything get dialled in.
However, there is a common misconception about custom fittings that it is only for better players. That isn’t true in the slightest.
Quite often people will think they’re not good enough to get fitted or it’s too expensive and think they aren’t good enough to justify spending money.

But what if I told you custom fittings are exactly what you need especially if you are a high handicapper?
If you are golfer using preowned golf clubs or a ten-year-old set of clubs, I can guarantee you aren’t getting the most out of your golf clubs. The speeds won’t be as fast, the distance won’t be as long and the performance and forgiveness will have likely deteriorated over time.
With the latest technology, there are some amazing golf clubs that are designed to stop you slicing the ball as much, hit straighter shots, deliver faster ball speeds, add more carry distance and give you the best forgiveness possible.
To start with, there are 10K MOI drivers that are the most forgiving and stable offering on the market. Then, game improvement irons that are easy to get in the air and deliver great stopping power speed and distance – even on off centre strikes. And finally in wedges, there are specific designs to help around the greens like cavity backs, full faced grooves and High MOI putters.
There are so many positives and advantages of going for a custom fitting, especially if you are a high handicapper. With an abundance of options in shafts, drivers, irons, wedges, putters, and balls (the list goes on), but I guarantee there is a combination that is best suited for you.
If you want to lower scores and get that handicap down, get fitted for your golf clubs and see how much of a difference it can make.
