Lyle and Scott clothing is back in golf and the brand has already made an exciting addition to its roster.
The brand, which launched its iconic golden eagle logo in the 1960s, unveiled Brandon Robinson Thompson as an ambassador, as the Isle of Wight golfer will sport the apparel in the 2025 season.
Clearly, the golden eagle is inspiring Thompson already, as the 32-year-old shot a course record 61 at last week’s Bahrain Championship, on his way to a top ten. He then backed that up with an even better finish of third place at the Qatar Masters.
“I feel like the eagle rubbed off on me. I had two of them on the front nine on Thursday!” said Thompson, after his opening round of 61 in Bahrain.

“I’m super excited because I think to my knowledge the new season’s gear arrived this month, or at least a few days ago. I’m super excited to get into the new stuff. I like a bit of colour, I’m a bit subdued at the moment with what I’ve got, but there will be a bit of colour making an appearance.
“I love the stuff. What I’ve really liked is I’ve worn a little bit of Lyle and Scott in the past, and growing up I remember watching a little bit of Lyle and Scott on TV. It’s a huge golf brand. They took a few years hiatus there in the golf industry, but now they’re coming back and back with a bang to be honest.

“It’s little things like the trousers and shorts with the non-slip, so your shirt never comes untucked. It’s got like a little bit that stops the shirt from coming untucked completely, so you pull it out to whatever you want, it’s so nice. It’s little things like that are overlooked for the most part.
“As well as standard stuff, it’s just great quality. I’m not going to bore you with ‘Oh it’s great quality’, because it is, I know it is. It’s just little things like that, working with the team has been great. Ian’s great, Dickie’s awesome, just super.
“They’re invested and I feel like I’ve been brought in as part of the team. They’ve made me feel very welcome and I’ve loved it so far.”
