Titleist is preparing to start 2025 with a bang with the launch of the new Titleist GT280 Mini Driver.

The brand-new club will start its ‘tour validation process’ at next week’s The Sentry, the season-opener on the PGA Tour, where Titleist staffers will get the chance to use the exiting new club in competition for the first time.

The new GT280 is a direct result of Titleist’s collaboration with PGA Tour players on the development and testing of the TSR 2W prototype, which you migbt remember debuted on the US-based circuit during last year’s PLAYERS Championship.

With many players seeking a different option at the big end of their bag, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head to create a new ‘go to’ club off the tee and off the deck.

The GT280 Mini Driver has, as you might expect, a head that’s smaller than the Titleist GT drivers but bigger than the GT fairways, so you could assume the 280 in the name stands for 280cc.

It’s deeper in the face and not as shallow as the GT fairways but still looks like it sits tight to the ground. You can see the adjustable hosel which you may need with a 13-degree head but you also have the weight ports at the front and back which you will be able to adjust as well. This should allow you to dial it in to your exact specifications.

We’ve not had a chance to hit it just yet – it really is that new – but, at first glance, it looks great.

The Mini Driver segment is becoming extremely popular and growing all the time. It’s going to be great to see this in action on the PGA 2025 Season opener in Maui this week so keep an eye out for the Titleist players as some will have this in play.
