Ogio Fuse golf stand bag review

If you’re planning a trip to Hawaii anytime soon, then we’ve got the perfect golf bag for you. The Ogio 2024 Fuse stand bag does a great job of combining standout style with brilliant functionality. It’s a great option, even if you’re not heading for a tropical island.

I’m someone who likes to switch it up when it comes to the bag I use on the course. If I’m playing something competitive, I’ll almost always go for a bag on a trolley, but if I’m sneaking out for nine holes or just enjoying a round with mates, I’ll usually carry the clubs. So, the Ogio Fuse stand bag seems like the perfect option for getting the clubs in something light and easy to carry. I took it for a trip to the course and to the driving range to see how it performed.

The First Look

Two things strike you about this bag immediately. The obvious point is the colourway, as I got the bag in the Aloha design. It’s certainly not like any design I’ve had in a bag before, but I’ve grown to like it, even if the weather isn’t quite reflecting the floral looks.

Next, you can feel how lightweight this bag is. It’s not much heavier than a pencil bag, which is a big positive if you’re someone who values comfort on the course.

Here’s what they have to say about the bag…

New to the range in 2024 is the Fuse Stand Bag. This is a lightweight, non waterproof carrying option for the course. Boasting world-class organisation and bold colourways that run across the OGIO range in 2024, just a little more subtle.

The bunkered Verdict

I took this bag out for nine holes at Golf It! Glasgow – sadly not in Hawaii – before then taking it to the driving range. I’ve got to say, I love it.

Firstly, like I mentioned earlier, it’s very lightweight out on the course. This adds to the comfort that you get from the straps which are very well designed. The Fit Disc self-balancing strap system worked well on my shoulders to keep the bag level on my back. Even with 14 clubs, a jacket, plenty balls, tees, a water bottle and valuables, it was still easy to get around the course.

I was a little concerned about the waterproofness of the bag, but Ogio don’t advertise it as being waterproof, so I really can’t fault them on that. Both the ball pocket and valuables pocket close magnetically, which is handy for getting your things, but I’m not sure how these would perform in a typical Scottish downpour.

Saying that, the pockets are great on this bag. The main pocket designed for jackets and outerwear is large, while the ball pocket, complete with a magnetic easy access port, is great. I also like the loop on the side of the bag which is perfect for attaching your rangefinder, towel, membership tag, and any other bits and pieces.

The four-way divider is fine for when you’re carrying your clubs, although if you had the bag on a trolley, then you might get a fair bit of club clatter. That wasn’t really an issue here though.

I’ve only used this bag a few times, but I’m confident it will last a long time and I’d happily keep using it for those rounds where I want to breeze around the course. All in all, a great option to carry the clubs.
