When we think of Puma, we tend to think of Rickie Fowler, bright fresh designs and a brand that can deliver to both the elite level and everyday golfer.

Puma has always strived to meet the needs of golfers from apparel to shoes in fun colours and fresh innovative designs.

The new Alphacat Nitro continues do that with its hi-tech materials and new premium cushioning design delivering advanced performance in a shoe.

This latest offering is designed to give you premium cushioning that provides explosive energy and propulsion with each step in a spikeless shoe.

Here are four things we think you need to know when you try them…

Puma Alphacat Nitro 1

Nitrogen gas for extra cushioning

That’s right, nitrogen gas is infused into the Nitro Foam. Why? Simple: it’s lightweight and creates exceptional cushioning. The Nitro Foam is located in the midsole of the shoe, providing optimal comfort and cushioning. By doing so, this new innovative design delivers energy return with every step, keeping your feet energised to avoid fatigue.

Dual material, one sole

The sole is designed in two parts in order to give you the best grip on any surface throughout the golf swing. The first part wraps all the way around, starting from the inside of your foot and down into the outside of the heel. From the centre of the sole, you have your second part which starts from the ball of your foot and continues down into the inside of the heel. This is designed to support you when you’re shifting weight your weight laterally, keeping you stable and centred throughout your swing. The Dual Material Alpha Traction sole design provides grip and stability in a wide variety of turf and weather conditions, as well as impressive durability.

Support where you need it

With the Alpha Traction control giving the grip you need, you also need the shoe to deliver stability. The Upper EXOShell does just that. It is engineered with mesh to provide enhanced structure and support both during the swing and while walking. It essentially ‘hugs’ your foot, giving you all the stability and support you need with the laces allowing you to choose your ideal tightness for maximum support comfort.

So many colours

One thing Puma has never been short of is colours, and it’s no different with the Puma Alphacat Nitro. There’s a total of six colourways to choose from and, to be honest, you’re spoilt for choice because all of them look brilliant. You also have the Formstripe External Heel Counter, which looks cool wherever the shoes are worn.
