If you have a slow swing speed and are looking for added speed and forgiveness, PXG has added a new driver to the Black Ops Range that could be right for you.
If you are someone with a slower swing speed, you are in luck with the new PXG Black Ops Ultra Lite driver. The new addition from the brand
The First Look
In the looks department, this is very similar to the Black Ops driver, but there is some small differences. This doesn’t have the weight ports towards the toe or heel on the sole, which is in play in the rest of the Black Ops range to give Precision Weighting Technology. That tech still exists here, but in a different form to save weight and move centre of gravity back in the head. There is just the one weight port at the back which can be fitted to your preferred weight.

The Tech
Here’s what PXG has to say about the new addition to their line.
The PXG Black Ops Ultra Lite driver features a lightweight design which only weighs 189 grams, which is 14 grams lighter than the standard PXG Black Ops driver. The clubhead mass is also adjustable between 179 grams and 196.5 grams with the adjustable Precision Weighting Technology. With a single rear weight port, this driver has a deeper centre of gravity that increases both forgiveness and consistency while enhancing stability.
The new driver also features PXG’s proprietary AMF Technology. Optimised with a variable thickness design, the face delivers increased ball speed for more distance. The non-uniform bulge and roll face is refined and manufactured consistently through robotic polishing to adjust the horizontal and vertical curvatures across the face strategically. This face design supports enhanced forgiveness and improves overall performance on off-centre hits.

A high-strength composite body construction is made from a high-grade carbon fibre which helps to improve weight distribution within the clubhead to increase the MOI and push the centre of gravity lower and further back.
“Whether you play like a pro or an average Joe, we’re committed to having a high-performance setup that will help you play your best and have a good time. The expansion of the PXG Black Ops Driver Collection to include a lightweight option is case in point. There are a lot of players out there who will benefit from this clubhead design, and we’re thrilled to give them what they need.” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.
The bunkered Verdict
The PXG Black Ops Ultra Lite is a great addition to the PXG Black Ops range. If you are that golfer that has a slower swing and needs a bit more speed and forgiveness out of the driver then this will be a great option.
