The Callaway Elyte fairway woods have a new look that will give you the confidence you need to get the ball airborne with ease.
If you’re like me and maybe don’t get on with a fairway wood sometimes, the new option from Callaway could be what you’re looking for.
The Elyte design allows for better turf interaction, more forgiveness and forward weighting to give you the distance and forgiveness you need.
Let’s take a closer look…
These new Callaway Elyte fairways tick the boxes in the looks department, with three new head offerings.
Just like the drivers, you have three options to choose from: Elyte TD, Elyte and Elyte X.
The TD – which stands for Triple Diamond – is a smaller profile sitting tighter to the floor with a slightly deeper face and, like the driver, features a gloss finish.
The Elyte sits in the middle of the pack, with a shallower face, sitting tight to the ball at address with a slightly bigger head shape.
Last but not least, the Elyte X has the largest footprint, with a shallow face design – which looks great behind the ball – with a matte crown.
Let’s take a closer look at how the tech works in these fairway woods…
Ai10X face
Just like the drivers, the Elyte fairways have an Ai10x Face. This is Callaway’s most advanced face design to date and, in the fairways, it features the C300 Face Cup. This design gives you exceptionally fast ball speed, tight dispersion, and optimised launch across the face.
Tungsten Speed Wave
A 35g weight, which sits low and forward in the club, the Tungsten Speed Wave is the tech that helps you achieve those fast ball speeds, especially when you catch it low on the face.
Step Sole
Developed through extensive studies and the success of the Apex UW, the Step Sole is a sole shape that delivers better turf interaction for consistent results. It’s also what make these fairways sit extremely close and tight to the ground.
Not only does this design deliver better movement through the turf, you’ll also hit the centre of the face more consistently, giving you a cleaner strike.
You should also notice less skidding, so you’ll get better connection on the ball giving you that solid strike with a smooth transition when you’re hitting off the deck.
The Callaway Elyte fairway woods are going to be very popular for a number of reasons.
Firstly, you’re never going to struggle to get the ball in the air, which is a massive plus. They also look great behind the ball in all three shapes. Whether you’re an elite player or high handicapper, having something that looks this good will inspire confidence.
The speeds from the lower strikes on the face are impressive, and very consistent with the strikes off the middle of the face keeping that dispersion tight. And the Step Sole tech is a complete game-changer.
I tried all three head designs and, to be honest, I don’t know which one I’ll play – they’re all so good! If you want more forgiveness and a larger head, the Elyte X is one of the easiest-to-hit fairways I’ve ever used. It’s big, inviting, shallow, gets the airborne with ease, and is long.
The Elyte is the fairway I think a lot of golfers will gravitate towards as it’s long, forgiving and consistent. It’s slightly smaller than the Elyte X but it still packs a punch with the C300 Face Cup and is so easy to hit.
Then there’s the Elyte TD. This thing is a bullet, particularly with the sole weight forward. It produces a more penetrating flight and, for players with faster swing speeds, I can see it being a great secondary option off the tee or when you’re trying to reach that long par-5 in two.
All in all, these fairways are brilliant. They will give you the distance, the consistency and the confidence you need to make 2025 your best year yet.
