The latest putters from Ping have arrived and there is some fan favourites in the range.

If you are a fan of Ping putters, you’ll love what this new Scottsdale range has to offer.

With nine different options in the range and the popular Craz-E making a comeback they are definitely going to be a crowd pleaser for a number of reasons.

As well as this, Ping are making it easier to choose which putter is right for you, as they have introduced their new WebFit Putter app. This new web-based fitting tool is designed to help golfers find the Ping putter that best fits their game.

The First Look

Each putter model features a subtle colour blocking between the top rail and back portion to draw focus to the front of the putter for better alignment. With various head sizes and shapes, golfers can match a blade, mid-mallet or mallet to best suit their eye.

The Tech

Here’s what Ping has to say about the tech in their latest range of putters.

In the face design we have the PEBAX elastomer, which is a lightweight material with a high-energy-return that delivers a soft yet responsive feel, leading to improved distance control and consistency.

Impact stability in every Scottsdale model is advanced because of the large face-insert cavities that allow weight savings to be re-distributed farther toward the perimeter to increase the MOI. Optimally placed CG positions help reduce skid and initiate forward roll.

The Ping Scottsdale putters

Here’s a look at every shape in the new range…

Scottsdale Craz-E

A tour-proven Ping classic known for its alignment features and extreme MOI that comes from perimeter weighting and a low/back CG.

Scottsdale Craz-E CB

Mid-length build combines a longer shaft and grip with the Craz-E head to allow golfers to grip down for more stability.

Scottsdale Prime Tyne 4

This highly forgiving mallet is distinguished by its twin-fork design that gives it exceptional balance.

Scottsdale Prime Tyne C

This centre-shafted model will appeal to players who set up better with no offset and who have a straight stroke type.

Scottsdale Oslo 3

This high-MOI mallet is perimeter weighted and has a low centre of gravity for accuracy, helped by a ball-width back cavity for easier aiming.

Scottsdale Anser

The winningest putter of all time is heel-toe weighted for forgiveness and accuracy, and its back cavity with a single alignment line makes aiming easy to inspire a confident stroke.

Scottsdale Anser 4

Shares similar design characteristics with the classic Anser – heel-toe weighting for forgiveness, clean alignment — but is designed with a hosel that assists a strong-arc stroke.

Scottsdale Anser 2D

This slightly deeper, perimeter-weighted blade design has similar weight, size and forgiveness of a mid-mallet putter.

Scottsdale B63

The tour-inspired, perimeter-weighted B60 model becomes the B63 with a soft-slanting hosel that matches the soft head geometry for visual balance.

Scottsdale DS72

The tour-inspired DS72 has a ball-width PEBAX face insert that matches the ball-width cavity to make aiming easier.

The bunkered verdict

I played a round with the new Ping Scottsdale Craz-E in, you guessed it, Scottsdale and it was so good. Firstly, it is really responsive as it felt nice and soft off the face and was very forgiving. Not only that, but you can’t help feel a bit of nostalgia with this putter. The classic look from address that resembles the man on go-kart looks so good and brings back memories.

Although I loved the Craz-E, I also had a fitting at Ping HQ and the Scottsdale Oslo 3 was the best fit for me as it was perfect for my stroke. I really couldn’t miss with it.

What is really interesting is the fitting app that Ping has developed is brilliant, as even when I used it after my in-person fitting, it picked the exact putter that I’d been fitted in and recommended that exact one.

So, if you’re strapped for time and can’t get fit, this app is brilliant for suggesting and recommending what is best for you. Overall, the new Ping Scottsdale putters are class.
