Ecco has released their all new BIOM H5 golf shoe and if you’re looking for a trainer like option that is waterproof and durable, then you’re in luck.

Ecco have been known to create some incredible golf shoes and as you can expect their new BIOM H5 shoe is no different.

The Ecco BIOM H5 is a performance golf shoe built for the elements, and they take inspiration in look from the Scottish Highlands while combining Danish performance. Sounds good, right? Let’s take a look…

The First Look

The first thing I’ll say is this doesn’t look like a traditional Ecco shoe as it’s a lot more athletic looking and trainer like. It has a rough and rugged midsole which is part of the aesthetic design that was inspired by Nordic fjords and the rugged Scottish Highlands.

At first glance, you’ll definitely like what you see on your feet.

The Tech

The Ecco BIOM H5 features Ecco’s brand-new Ecco-Tex waterproof membrane, which makes sure your feet stay dry and comfortable, even in the very wettest conditions. The next-generation Biom’s all-day comfort is crafted from Ecco Performance Leather and a minimal seam-knit sock construction. Enhanced by Biom Natural Motion technology, the BIOM H5 offers a snug fit that provides stability and comfort.

The Ecco BIOM H5 is crafted with purpose, every scuff or wear mark is a testament to its durability and connection to the outdoors.

Wherever your round takes you, the innovative new Ecco Terra Traction System sole provides superior stability and traction, with an abstract and contemporary look. The BIOM H5 delivers a structured, stable, yet light feel with exceptional energy return and bounce, ensuring you stay ahead in every game, rain or shine.

The bunkered Verdict

There’s one thing that ECCO always nails and that is comfort. Every step you take feels great and they also look great on your feet. The sock liner feels great around your foot and with the waterproof membrane you’ll never have to worry if you’re caught in a downpour.

These instantly just feel durable and the traction on sole gives you great grip as well, despite being spikeless. The support underneath the arches of your feet is great when you’re walking, but the one thing I would say is the support when you’re laterally moving in your swing doesn’t give you the most stability. It will be fine for golfers with slower swings, but if you have a quicker swing and move side to side in your swing, you might not feel as much support as some other Ecco shoes. Still, these are supremely comfortable, which is something you expect from Ecco.

Overall, the Ecco BIOM H5 has trainer-like comfort, great looks and impressive traction. These tick the boxes when it comes to keeping you comfortable and dry on the course.
