Review: FootJoy x Harris Tweed Premiere Series golf shoes

FootJoy has always produced a great looking shoe for the Open and they continue to do so with the FootJoy X Harris Tweed Premiere Series golf shoes. I mean, just look at those.

Fans of FootJoy shoes are in for a treat with this special edition offering, especially if you’re someone who liked the previous FJ x Harris Tweed collab. Taking inspiration from the postage stamp at Troon, both Field and Wilcox models come with a unique shoe bag made from the same cloth as featured on the shoes. These really are a treat.

The First Look

When it comes to looks the Harris Tweed Premiere Series shoes do not disappoint. This limited-edition collaboration has a distinctive hand-woven tweed with a ‘basket weave’ pattern, reminiscent of a postage stamp, paying homage to the iconic 8th hole at this year’s Open Championship at Troon. There’s not much else we can say in this section. Just look at them…

The Tech

Here’s what FootJoy has to say about their latest special pair of shoes.

“The Stamp” Premiere Series collection uses authentic, hand-woven Harris Tweed wool cloth combined with hand-selected soft full grain leather and luxurious calfskin details deliver the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality and style.

Both Field and Wilcox models are also packed full of performance, leading with the custom, gold Pulsar softspikes and specifically arranged, multi-directional traction elements create resistance against swing forces that can come from any angle. Also featuring the revolutionary VersaTrax+ technology, golfers can rely on a shoe that delivers traction and stability in every condition and on every playing surface.

“We’re very excited about the continued partnership between FootJoy and Harris Tweed Hebrides. Both brands have such a rich heritage with a mutual understanding in wanting to deliver the highest levels of quality and performance. This year’s collaboration pays homage to the famous 8th hole at Royal Troon and we can’t wait to see many of our FJ athletes sporting both the Field and Wilcox models at this year’s Open Championship.” – Chris Tobias, Footjoy’s Vice President of Global Footwear

The bunkered verdict

FootJoy and Harris Tweed never disappoint with their collaborations and I love what I see here once again. Whether you’re a Field or Wilcox fan, both Premiere series shoes look incredible, what else would you expect from FootJoy?

The detailing in the weaving and the cloth is great and classic look combines to make a quality looking couple of shoes.

FootJoy brand ambassadors such as Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark and Will Zalatoris will be presented with the shoes ahead of the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon. So, keep your eyes peeled for these. If you do invest in a pair of these, we know you’re going to be greeted with a stunning pair of golf shoes that absolutely perform when you need them to.
