Vice Golf VGP01 putter review

If you are looking for a blade-like putter with more forgiveness, the new VGP01 from Vice Golf could be for you.

Known for their golf balls and accessories, Vice Golf has now released their first ever golf club range. I’ve been given one of their newest putters, the VGP01, so let’s dive in and check out the looks of this putter.

The First Look

Looks wise, it’s a different shape to what you would expect from a blade. I would describe it like an elongated blade, almost mid mallet like.

It’s got a great alignment line through the middle of the putter with a small V on the top of the putter. Not a traditional looking head but it sits great behind the ball.

The Tech

This new putter from Vice Golf is made from super soft forged steel, Vice have made this putter shape to still allow the natural opening of the putter face, whilst maintaining enough face stability to square the face at impact.

What you will find is this putter has more weight in the toe, which is ideal if you prefer a lot of face rotation in your putter. This putter has a slightly elongated top profile that bumps the MOI up while providing a larger canvas to create a significantly larger alignment aid.

It’s a 100% forged steel design with a CNC milled finish and optimised weight and clubface size for increased playability.

The bunkered Verdict

This is a slightly different shape than what you may be used to in a putter, but the performance is excellent.

The longer blade length and wider depth in shape gives you more forgiveness on slight off-centre strikes, which you don’t necessarily always get in a blade design. It feels crisp off the face, with a soft feel and pleasing acoustic and is easy to line up with its alignment aid.

It’s not a putter I would traditionally gravitate towards, but once you start putting with it you won’t want to put it down. I’m certainly a fan of the new range from Vice.
