Wilson has expanded their Dynapwr iron range with two new offerings in the Dynapwr and the Dynapwr Max irons. But how do the 2025 offerings perform? Here’s our review.
These new Wilson Dynapwr irons fall into the game improvement and super game improvement categories, so if you’re in need of as much forgiveness as possible on the course, Wilson has you covered. Let’s get into the finer details.
Looks wise these are great. The Dynapwr has a slightly thinner topline, a wide sole and a hollow body design. The Dynapwr Max, which sits in the super game improvement category, has a slightly thicker topline in comparison with a larger profile and more mass at the rear of the club.
The new game improvement Dynapwr and game-improvement plus Dynapwr Max irons feature the PKR Cup face design. This is an AI-generated Variable Face Technology, which optimises ball speed and distance. Both irons are designed with a low centre of gravity and high moment of inertia, featuring toe-biased weight distribution for increased speed, forgiveness, and higher launch. A Velocity Optimisation Channel, strategically positioned in the sole and behind the face, enables enhanced flexibility for maximum ball speeds.
Wilson Dynapwr irons
The Wilson Dynapwr iron caters to a better ball striker with its reduced offset, thinner topline and narrower sole. The Dynapwr Max iron services players who prefer a little more forgiveness with a larger head size and a wider sole.
At the back of the Dynapwr iron is a supportive frame which allows for maximum stability and energy transfer at impact, while optimising both sound and feel. This hollow body construction ensures optimal weight distribution for improved face stability, unlocking maximum distance and forgiveness.
Wilson Dynapwr Max irons
The Dynapwr Max iron has an open heel construction which frees up the heel side of the face for better feel and improved ball speed on heel shots. This design has allowed the Wilson designers to place the mass and material throughout the head to improve the stability, as well as improved sound and feel.
I was a big fan of the Wilson Dynapwr Forged irons when they came out and these new Dynapwr game improvement irons will always be a little bit bigger to give you more forgiveness and a higher MOI. This range certainly has that.
The Dynapwr has that hollow body design and comes off like a rocket. Easy to get in the air and has great distance and spin control with slightly stronger lofts.
The Dynapwr Max is a little bit bigger with its hollow body design but has a bit more mass at the back for more stability and higher MOI. If you struggle to get the ball in the air these are great. They are packed with speed, forgiveness and they are going to help you on those mishits.
The Wilson Dynapwr is going to be a great option for the higher handicapper with that better ball striking ability and the Wilson Dynapwr MAX is perfect if you crave the most forgiveness across the club face.
