Zebra Milled Series putters review

Zebra are back with a new Milled Series range of putters, after their return to the market last year. But, how do the latest models stack up?

Zebra putters made a return to the market last year bringing back that classic Zebra nostalgic feel with a modern take on performance.

This year they’re back, with four new models featuring new tech, with shapes designed to suit any player. Let’s take a closer look.

The First Look

You know what you’re getting with a Zebra putter, and I love the looks.

The four shapes look great in an all-black finish which come in a mid-mallet, fang design and two blade designs.

The alignment lines on each putter stand out with the white alignment line marking the middle and grey lines on either side of the middle white line. The fang head shape has three alignment lines, one in the middle and one on each fang.

The Tech

Each putter is precision made from a single billet of carbon steel. Offered in a choice of four models – two blades, one mallet and one higher MOI fang design, they are available with two 10g weights in the toe and heel of the sole which can be switched out to dial in a golfer’s preferred head weight.  If you wish to make the head weight of the putter heavier you can additional weights of 15g and 20g weights which are available as accessories.

It comes fitted with a premium Zebra logo’d Winn VSN mid-size grip for enhanced feel and to add to stability. It’s further enhanced by KBS Stable-Stepped shaft, optimised for consistency and feel.

The Putter Models

The Milled Series 1 putter is a face balanced and toe hang design. The Milled Series 1 is an oversised rounded mallet, featuring a single white alignment line surrounded by three grey lines on either side to give it that traditional Zebra striped look.

The Milled Series 2 mallet has that fang-style head shape, which creates a powerful visual for super accurate putting. Zebra’s striped alignment aid comes in the form of a single centred white line surrounded on each side by three grey lines, while there are also thick white lines on the inner portion of each fang to further enhance accuracy and help frame the ball.

The Milled 3 is a wide-bodied blade designed to provide the levels of stability and forgiveness you’d find in a mid-mallet style, but in a more refined head shape.

Milled Series 4 has the similar look of a traditional Anser-style blade which will appeal to the player with a consistent flowing stroke.

The bunkered Verdict

I hit these a while back at the PGA show and I have to say they feel really good off the face and roll very nicely as well.

I tried the fang designed, the Milled Series 2 model, which I felt was really well balanced.

I also tried the wider bladed design which I really liked, as the shape is something similar to what I use out on the course.

The alignment lines on each putter is great as they are crisp and clear and you feel confident you’re hitting your putts on your target line.

They look good, feel good and come in four great options for every stroke type.
