Jennifer Saxton is hoping for success at this week’s Concession Cup. If it comes, there’s no doubt that Shot Scope technology will have had a part to play.
The elite Scottish amateur player is in Savannah, Georgia, at the Landings Golf and Athletic Club, where she’s part of the European team hoping for success in the Ryder Cup style event.
Saxton, who is one of the mid-amateur players in the team, is also the marketing manager at GPS and Shot Tracking giants Shot Scope.
The 2022 St Rule Champion and plus five handicapper has credited the technology with an important improvement in her game.
“With data-driven changes and input from my coach, my Fairway Hit Percentage has increased from 51% in 2021 to 65% in 2024,” she said.
Saxton uses the Shot Scope X5 watch, which makes tracking your stats on the course incredibly easy. The technology will automatically track your stats on the course. Then, with the Shot Scope app, you’ll be able to see where your game is performing well, and where you might need to improve.
“For a golfer new to data tracking, it might seem daunting, but Shot Scope makes it easy to learn key insights about your game,” said Saxton, who has been a user of the technology for six years.
Saxton will be part of the first Concession Cup team that features both men and women.
“This is an exciting honour,” she said. “Awareness around women’s golf is growing, and more opportunities are becoming available to us.
“We hope to be the first ones to get our names on that trophy and make history.”
The Concession Cup will be held at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia, from November 4 to November 8, where a team of men and women from Europe will compete against Team USA.
