When you think of essentials to have in your golf bag, several things come to mind. Sunscreen should absolutely be on the list. For so many golfers, however, it’s an afterthought.
Sure, it might not directly help your golf game, but in the long term, it’s absolutely more important than the club you have in your hand or the golf ball you have in your pocket.
But, for so many golfers, it’s something we neglect on the golf course.
As every golfer will know, there are reasons for this. Laziness is one of them, but there is a second, more legitimate concern for players. Sunscreen can leave your palms feeling greasy and slippery and, for a golfer, that’s a big issue.
In particular, if you’re applying sunscreen when it’s warm, a combination of sweaty and greasy palms can have some bad consequences.
That, however, should be no excuse. Without going into the stats, golfers are at an increased risk of skin cancer. Players such as Adam Scott, Padraig Harrington and Justin Thomas have been vocal about the need to protect yourself on the course, and the dangers of not applying the right protection.
For that reason, having a sunscreen that is made with golfers in mind could be a game-changer on the course. That’s where Solarsport comes in.
The brand has recently launched its Essential Skincare Set, which has been specially designed with golfers in mind.
The set comes with two 50ml bottles of Solarsport SPF30 Sunscreen, as well as a 50ml tube of Solarsport SPF30 moisturiser.
Engineered with the specific needs of golfers in mind, the Solarsport Essential Skincare Set offers comprehensive protection against the sun’s harmful rays while keeping the skin hydrated and healthy. The Solarsport SPF30 sunscreen is developed to shield golfers’ skin whilst out on the course.
• Time to end golf’s biggest equipment stigma!
What makes this sunscreen so great for golfers though is the non-slip formula. The quick-drying, non-greasy mist means that you won’t have the club slipping through your fingers on the course after applying this mid-round.
Being able to apply sunscreen mid-round is an important point, as after a few hours, an initial application of sunscreen can become redundant, especially if you’re sweating or using a towel to dry your arms or face. If you apply protection before you head to the first tee, by the time you get to the 18th tee, that could be all but gone.
“We understand the unique needs of golfers who spend hours training and competing outdoors,” said Tony Wood, Director at Solarsport.
“As such, we’ve developed this skincare set to offer both superior sun protection and essential hydration.
“Our Solarsport SPF30 Moisturiser and Sunscreen ensure that golfers can focus on their grip and their game without worrying about sunburn or skin damage.”
