TaylorMade have added a new technology to the TP5 and TP5x golf ball and it comes in the form of the new 360 ClearPath Alignment.

TaylorMade has some of the standout visuals when it comes to golf balls. We’ve seen Pix, Tour Stripe, SpeedSoft INK, Limited Edition Pix designs, MySymbol and now we have a new addition in the TP5 and TP5x golf ball line in the 360 ClearPath Alignment.

The First Look

This new alignment design is going to appeal to a lot of golfers. Looks wise, it’s pretty much the same concept behind the TourStripe in the Tour Response golf balls but without the colour giving you two strong black lines with a very clear visual. This is the perfect 360 guide for you to line up your putts and get great feedback on every roll.

The Tech

Both TP5–the softest five-layer ball on tour–and TP5x–the fastest five-layer ball on tour, that’s now a half-club longer than its previous TP5x generation feature the all-new 360 ClearPath Technology.

For the first time, golfers can now play the best premium golf ball offering from TaylorMade with the added benefit, the new visual technology. The clear 22-millimeter digital band that wraps around the centre of the golf ball has a thin black line to match putter sight lines providing an immediate aid in alignment. TP5 and TP5x Stripe allow the golfer to align putts more accurately, consistently, and quickly. The design of Stripe also makes proper strikes easily identifiable as the Stripe rolls consistently toward the hole, while off-centre strikes cause a can’t-miss wobble off the digital band. ClearPath Alignment makes it easy to aim tee shots straight down the middle of the fairway as well.

“The reason golfers have fallen in love with the 360°ClearPath Alignment Stripe is because it really allows them to lock in on their line from behind the ball. The immediate feedback about how the golf ball rolls is pivotal as well.”–Michael Fox, Senior Director of Product Creation, Golf Balls

On professional tours, Tommy Fleetwood, who has readily embraced TaylorMade’s Visual Technology and currently plays TP5x pix ,is testing TP5x Stripe and using it as an alignment aid during practice. Keita Nakajima also continues to test the TP5 Stripe golf ball.

The bunkered Verdict

I absolutely love this alignment aid golf ball for a number of reasons.

Firstly you can practice to your heart’s content on the putting green, in your living room working on getting the perfect roll. Then, when trying to get the perfect roll, you will without thinking, try and alter your putting stroke to get the perfect end over end roll. So, you will improve your stroke to get that perfect feel and roll of the perfect putt.

Not only that, but when you’re on the course you’ll feel more confident where you’re hitting your putts on that starting line, so you’re going to make more putts.

This is brilliant. I think the visual isn’t too loud or in your face, but it gives you brilliant feedback on where you’re hitting the ball. On top of that, it comes in the TP5 and TP5x.
