Major championship week is signalled by a few things in golf, one of them being the reveal of the TaylorMade staff bag.
This time around for the PGA Championship, they have delivered once again.
The brand has launched their Queen City bag, which pays homage to this week’s host city, Charlotte, North Carolina.
The dark blue, gold and white bag is adorned with a few key details which point to some of the other sporting history of Charlotte.
Firstly, there’s the inside of the main pocket of the bag, which is lined with a checkered flag, a nod to the stock car racing scene that is popular in North Carolina.
As well as that, there’s links to the professional basketball scene, where the Charlotte Hornets are the local favourites.

• Collin Morikawa is using a club aimed at high handicap golfers. Here’s why.
You’ll also notice some quail feathers on the side of the bag, which, of course, relate to this week’s host venue, Quail Hollow.
Here’s what TaylorMade has to say on the bag…
“The Queen City is known for its vibrant culture rooted in sport and tradition. This year’s staff bag brings Charlotte’s most recognisable qualities to life through its elegant design and construction employing only the finest materials.
“From stock car racing to professional basketball, and storied southern tradition, this year’s staff bag commemorates everything rich and iconic about the host venue and Charlotte, North Carolina. Quail feathers, crowns and TaylorMade logos are found throughout the exterior. The interior linings remind us of the checkered flag that gets waved at the conclusion of a race.

• Are zero torque putters the answer to your putting woes?
“Charlotte has a long and storied sporting history. The staff bag’s primary colours of dark blue, gold and white pay homage to the tournament’s host organisation. Quail feathers, hornets and many other celebratory details are found throughout the design.”

And, even better, the bag is available for you to purchase. As you might expect, however, the staff bag isn’t cheap, retailing at £599. Look out for the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa using this bag as they aim to win the Wanamaker Trophy.
